According to the Peoria Police Department, the accident happened around 6:53 p.m. at Knoxville Avenue and Orchard Place.
A woman was struck by an SUV in unclear circumstances.
The pedestrian was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the accident scene, according to the Peoria County Coroner’s Office.
The driver of the white SUV stayed at the scene.
