A 78-year-old Fleming woman in the Toyota was transported to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries
Green Cove Springs, FL. – A woman was killed in a car crash that left three others injured on Sunday afternoon in Green Cove Springs.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 2:25 p.m. on US-17 at Bayard Street.
A white Toyota 4Runner was traveling northbound in the left lane of US-17 when it veered into the southbound lanes for unknown reasons and collided with a black Ford F-150 stopped in the southbound left turn lane.
The Toyota overturned after the collision.
A 78-year-old Fleming woman in the Toyota was transported to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
A 55-year-old Gainesville man and a 15-year-old Fleming Island girl, both occupants of the Toyota, were transported to hospital with serious injuries.
A 47-year-old Green Cove Springs man driving the pickup truck suffered minor injuries in the accident.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
