The woman driving the SUV and her male passenger were hospitalized with serious injuries

Fort Myers, FL. – A woman was killed in a collision that happened on Tuesday in Fort Myers.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened at the intersection of Winkler Road and Sunset Drive at around 9:55 p.m.
A 46-year-old Fort Myers woman was driving a car when she drifted across the center line to pass a car, and collided head-on with an oncoming SUV.
The Fort Myers woman was killed in the accident.
The 37-year-old Fort Myers woman driving the SUV and her passenger, a 37-year-old Fort Myers man, were hospitalized with serious injuries.
A 10-year-old child in the SUV suffered serious injuries while three others ranging in age from 3-17 sustained minor injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
