The trooper was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

Itasca, IL. – An Illinois State Police trooper was injured in a collision on Thursday morning, March 20, in Itasca.
At around 8:18 a.m. authorities responded to reports of a car crash involving a trooper on Illinois 390.
The trooper was attending to a previous traffic crash on the westbound ramp and had parked the patrol vehicle on the left shoulder with emergency lights activated when it was rear-ended by a Saturn Vue.
The trooper was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of Saturn, 44-year-old Teresa Muro from Glen Ellyn, Illinois, was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening.
Muro was cited for failing to move over.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
