Hayes was pronounced dead at the scene by Douglas County Coroner’s Office

Douglas County, IL. – One person was killed in a head-on collision that left another injured near Arthur in Douglas County on Monday evening.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 5:53 p.m. at 366 E. State Route 133.
Tammy M. Hayes, 61, was driving a car eastbound when he drifted across the center line and collided with another vehicle driven by Noah C. Garret, 19 of Arthur.
Hayes was pronounced dead at the scene by Douglas County Coroner’s Office.
Garrett was airlifted to Carle Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
