Sangamon County, IL – A woman from New Berlin was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Sangamon County on Saturday night.
According to the Illinois State Police, the accident happened on Highway 72 near the New Berlin exit at about 11:13 p.m. on March 22.
Police reported that a 35-year-old New Berlin Woman was walking in the area when she was hit by an eastbound vehicle.
The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The involved driver reportedly fled from the scene after the accident.
The Illinois State Police are investigating the accident.
