The fatal crash took place at about 7:39 p.m. on January 7 near the intersection of Galleria Drive and Interstate 11 northbound, according to Nevada State Police.
Police said a white 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling westbound on Galleria Drive when a pedestrian entered the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk.
As per the police, the pedestrian stepped from the north curb into the roadway in front of the Tahoe, leading to the collision.
After the collision, the Tahoe stopped in the far left lane. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Police said the pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced dead at about 6:31 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8.
The victim’s name has not been released.
The incident remains under investigation.
