Ryan Perez was driving a Dodge Ram north on U.S. 41 when he collided head-on with a southbound semi-truck
Lake County, IN. – A Munster police officer died in an early Tuesday morning collision involving a semi-truck in unincorporated Lake County south of St. John.
According to the Lake County Police Department, the accident happened on U.S. 41 near Wicker Avenue at around 1:05 a.m. on February 25
Off-duty Munster police officer Ryan Perez was driving a Dodge Ram north on U.S. 41 when he collided head-on with a southbound semi-truck.
The officer died at the accident scene.
The driver of the semi was uninjured.
More details about the accident were not released.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident.
