Authorities said a van carrying 12 people was heading southbound when it crashed for unknown reasons.

Pearce, AZ. – Three people were killed and several others were injured after a passenger van was involved in a traffic collision on Thursday night in Pearce, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The accident occurred a while after 9:00 p.m. on April 16 along the U.S. Route 191 near milepost 36.
Authorities said a van carrying 12 people was heading southbound when it crashed for unknown reasons.
Three persons were thrown off the car and were declared dead at the crash site.
Four persons were flown to a hospital in Tucson for treatment. Two of them were listed in a critical condition while two were in a stable condition.
Five other passengers sustained minor injuries and were treated at the crash site.
Police closed the roadway following the crash. The roadway reopened at about 5:00 a.m.
No other information concerning this crash was provided.
