Woman Rescued from Burning Car on Interstate 10 in Phoenix

Officer Rescues Woman from Burning Vehicle in Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ. – A woman was critically hurt following a fiery two-vehicle collision last week early Saturday morning in Phoenix.

According to a local news source, the accident happened on May 24 on Interstate 10.

Per the report, Officer Dakota Berry was from booking a suspect at a county jail and had returned to his duties in nearby Goodyear when he spotted a two-vehicle collision. He could hear honking from the vehicle that was burning. 

He rushed to his patrol SUV and got a glass-breaking tool. He broke the driver’s side window and pulled a woman trapped inside.

He rushed her to a burn center in a critical condition and is expected to survive. 

The woman’s father is a Goodyear firefighter.

Berry sustained a hand injury in the rescue mission.

An investigation is ongoing.
