According to the FHP, a 43-year-old woman from DeFiniak Springs was driving an SUV northbound on CR 393 when she tried to overtake another SUV traveling north.

Deerland, FL – A woman was killed in a collision that took place in Deerland on Tuesday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on County Road 393 and Staghorn Road at about 6 p.m. on April 15.
According to the FHP, a 43-year-old woman from DeFiniak Springs was driving an SUV northbound on CR 393 when she tried to overtake another SUV traveling north.
The vehicles collided as the second SUV was making a left turn.
The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The second driver, a 28-year-old man from Crestview, was flown to HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital in Fort Walton Beach with minor injuries.
Authorities reported that the drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
