Deputies said the driver of one of the cars involved, a 68-year-old woman from Mechanicsburg, was rushed to Springfield’s Memorial Medical Center.

Springfield, IL. – A 68-year-old woman was killed after a traffic collision on Sunday afternoon in Springfield, Sangamon County, according to the Sangamon County Coroner’s Office.
The accident happened a while before 3:49 p.m. on March 15 in the 3700 block of Camp Butler Road.
Deputies said the driver of one of the cars involved, a 68-year-old woman from Mechanicsburg, was rushed to Springfield’s Memorial Medical Center.
She was declared dead at the hospital’s emergency room at 3:49 p.m.
An autopsy was done on Monday, and it revealed that she died from injuries sustained in the collision.
The Springfield Police Department and the Illinois State Police responded to the scene.
An investigation is underway.
