Woman Killed in Car Crash at Oceanspray Boulevard in Charlotte County

Troopers said a 73-year-old Englewood man stopped his car for a stop sign facing east on Oceanspray Boulevard at the intersection of Spinnaker Boulevard. He then entered the intersection in front of the woman’s vehicle that was approaching. The two vehicles ultimately crashed.

Charlotte County, FL. – A 55-year-old Englewood woman was killed following a two-vehicle accident on Wednesday morning in Charlotte County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened a while before 8:30 a.m. July 9, at Spinnaker Boulevard and Oceanspray Boulevard.

Troopers said a 73-year-old Englewood man stopped his car for a stop sign facing east on Oceanspray Boulevard at the intersection of Spinnaker Boulevard. He then entered the intersection in front of the woman’s vehicle that was approaching. The two vehicles ultimately crashed.

The woman was thrown out of her vehicle as a result of the impact.

She was declared dead at the scene.

The man sustained minor injuries following the accident.

The incident remains under investigation.
