Authorities said multiple vehicles crashed in unclear circumstances.
McHenry County, IL. – A 21-year-old woman of Rockford was killed after a multi-vehicle accident on Thursday last week near Huntley, McHenry County, according to the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
The accident happened at about 5:30 a.m. on February 26, on I-90 around mile marker 46 near the interchange with Illinois Route 47.
Authorities said multiple vehicles crashed in unclear circumstances.
The woman was transported to an area hospital where she died at around 5:30 a.m. that morning.
An autopsy done on Tuesday revealed the cause of death was injuries to the brain.
An investigation is underway.
