Cass County, IN. – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a car on Wednesday night in Cass County.

The pedestrian accident happened around 7:30 p.m. on U.S. 24 east of County Road 1100 West, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

The 83-year-old woman from Lake Cicott, Indiana, had been walking across the road when she was struck by a westbound minivan.

The woman was seriously injured and was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital for treatment.

The driver, an 80-year-old man from Monticello, was unhurt.
