Police said two vehicles collided at the intersection.
Alton, IL. – A 17-year-old female driver was killed and her mother seriously hurt on Friday evening in Alton, Madison County, according to the Alton Police Department.
The deadly collision happened at around 9:05 p.m. on October 3, at the Homer Adams Parkway and Seminary Road intersection.
Police said two vehicles collided at the intersection.
The teen driver was declared dead at the crash site.
Her mother, who was a passenger in the car, was flown to a hospital in St. Louis where they were listed in a stable condition.
The other driver involved showed signs of impairment and was arrested by police.
Authorities blocked part of Homer Adams Parkway for several hours following the collision.
No other details concerning this crash were provided.
