The driver of the vehicle that first struck the trooper stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

Tacoma, WA. – A WSP trooper was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Friday evening in Tacoma, according to the WSP.
The fatal accident happened around 7:30 p.m. on State Route 509 near milepost 2.
WSP said the trooper was working on a two-vehicle collision when she was struck by another car as she was standing outside of her patrol vehicle.
She was then run over by a pickup truck, which then fled the scene.
The driver of the vehicle that first struck the trooper stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
The trooper was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pickup truck was described as dark or black in color and possibly a Chevrolet Avalanche or a Cadillac Escalade EXT with tinted windows, chrome door handles, and a chrome running board.
WSP is investigating the accident.
