Almora Township, IL. – A driver was killed after an SUV crashed into a parked semi-truck on Saturday afternoon in Almora Township, according to the Illinois State Police.
The accident occurred a while before 3:30 p.m. on September 27, on eastbound I-90 (Jane Addams Tollway) near Illinois Route 31 at Milepost 54.
Police said the SUV veered into the right shoulder and slammed into a parked semi-truck.
The SUV driver and the sole occupant died in the collision.
The semi driver was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Police said Plaza 9 eastbound was closed for several hours while authorities investigated the crash.
