The 56-year-old rider from Salem sustained fatal injuries at the scene
Salem, OR. – One person was killed in a motorcycle accident on Saturday night in Salem, according to authorities.
The crash occurred around 8:38 p.m. on Hazelgreen Road NE near 49th Avenue NE.
Police said the rider of a three-wheeled motorcycle bypassed a barricade at a construction zone on the highway.
The motorcycle continued into the inactive construction zone and crashed into the rear of an excavator.
The 56-year-old rider from Salem sustained fatal injuries at the scene.
Authorities said the construction zone was not active at the time of the incident.
The accident remains under investigation.
