
Tucson, AZ. – The hit-and-run driver who killed Robert Netherton, 63, on May 24th in Tucson was arrested on Saturday night, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
The accident happened near the 3600 block of South Palo Verde Road and Ajo Way.
Police said a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado struck and killed Netherton.
The driver fled the scene after the crash.
The hit-and-run driver, Jesus Torres, 71, was arrested later arrested on Saturday, June 14 when his car was stopped by an officer.
He claimed that he was not aware of the collision.
Torres was booked into the Pima County Jail on one count of leaving the accident scene causing severe injury or death, a class 3 felony.
The Pima County Attorney’s Office is handling the case.
