Jacksonville, FL. – According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, a 70-year-old motorcyclist was killed following a traffic collision on Friday afternoon in Jacksonville.

The accident occurred at about 2.00 p.m. at Youngerman Circle and Argyle Forest Boulevard.

The JSO confirmed an SUV crashed into a motorcycle for reasons still under investigation.

The SUV driver, a man in his mid-20s, was making a left turn into northbound Youngerman Circle when he drove into the path of the motorcycle.

The 70-year-old man, wearing safety gear, was rushed to the hospital where he died.

According to the JSO, the incident marks the 66th traffic fatality in Duval County this year and the 15th motorcycle crash.

Authorities closed Westbound Argyle Forest Boulevard and all of Youngerman Circle until 6.00 p.m. to give way to investigation.

No other details regarding this crash were provided.
