Surprise, AZ – A man was killed Friday afternoon in a motorcycle accident in Surprise, according to the authorities.
The deadly accident occurred just before 1:00 p.m. on August 29 near Bell and Dysart roads.
Authorities said an 80-year-old woman was trying to turn left when she failed to yield, and her car was struck by a motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, 20-year-old Richard Peña, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries where he later died.
The woman was uninjured in the accident. She was not impaired at the time of the accident, but criminal charges are pending.
The police are investigating the accident.
