A 23-year-old man from Keizer was pronounced dead at the scene.

Polk County, OR. – A 23-year-old man was killed in a car crash early Thursday morning in Polk County, according to Oregon State Police.
The accident happened around 2:56 a.m. on Highway 51 near milepost 4.
Investigators say a southbound Ford Ranger left the roadway for unknown reasons and rolled down an embankment.
The driver, identified only as a 23-year-old man from Keizer, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The highway was temporarily blocked as authorities conducted an on-scene investigation.
Assisting agencies included the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Polk County Fire, the Independence Police Department, and ODOT.
The accident remains under investigation.
