Plainfield, IL. – Two people were injured in a car accident in Plainfield on Monday night, according to the police.

The accident was reported around 5:30 a.m. in the 15719 block of S. Route 59 near Dunkin.

Police said a Ford box truck was turning left out of a coffee shop parking lot, when it failed to yield and hit a Cadillac SUV that was crossing the inside northbound lane.

The Cadillac became disabled and was struck by a northbound Honda motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle and was taken to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital in serious but stable condition.

The Cadillac driver was taken to Edward Hospital in Naperville with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Ford driver was cited for disobeying a traffic control device and failure to yield when turning left from a private drive.

An investigation is underway.
