Graham, WA. – 6 persons were hospitalized while Pierce County Sheriff’s Office Major Chadwick Dickerson was arrested after a DUI rollover crash on Saturday afternoon in Graham, Pierce County.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office the accident happened at about 3:45 p.m. July 12, on 132nd Avenue East and 288th Street East.
Dickerson’s vehicle collided with another car while it was at an uncontrolled junction. It was reported that Dickerson did not yield the right of way and was hit by the other car.
The other vehicle’s occupants three adults and three children sustained injuries due to the crash. All were taken to the hospital for treatment. One of the patients sustained fractured ribs and a fractured back.
Dickerson sustained fractured ribs, a contusion and a hematoma following the crash. He showed signs of impairment like watery bloodshot eyes, smell of intoxicants and also refused to volunteer for a field sobriety test.
He was arrested for DUI and booked for vehicular assault. Toxicology results are pending.
Investigations are ongoing and Dickerson has been placed on administrative leave.
