Troopers said an 81-year-old Pensacola woman was heading west through the credit union’s parking lot when she hit the accelerator rather than the brake as she tried to park her vehicle. The sedan crashed into the front of the building and hit a 37-year-old Jay man that was walking towards the front door.

Escambia County, FL. – A man was severely hurt after a traffic collision on Monday afternoon at a Gulf Winds Federal Credit Union in Escambia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at around 3:06 p.m. on March 31, at 1444 Creighton Road.
Troopers said an 81-year-old Pensacola woman was heading west through the credit union’s parking lot when she hit the accelerator rather than the brake as she tried to park her vehicle. The sedan crashed into the front of the building and hit a 37-year-old Jay man that was walking towards the front door.
The man was severely injured and was rushed to Baptist Hospital by ambulance.
The woman was not hurt and was cited for careless driving.
An investigation is underway.
