Deputies said a man’s body was found lying along the highway and his car pulled over on the side of SR 87.
Payson, AZ. – A male pedestrian was killed after a traffic collision late Tuesday night, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The accident happened a while before 10:00 p.m. on March 31 on Highway 87 (Beeline Highway) near Sunflower.
Deputies said a man’s body was found lying along the highway and his car pulled over on the side of SR 87.
Troopers found the hit-and-run driver where they had pulled over several miles away. The car had front-end damage following the crash. The driver was questioned but it was not clear if they were arrested.
Troopers closed Beeline Highway. The roadway reopened before 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
An investigation is ongoing.
