Skokie, IL. – A pedestrian was injured after a multi-vehicle crash on Sunday morning in Skokie, according to the Illinois State Police.
The deadly collision at around 4:47 a.m. on January 1, on I-94 near Dempster Street.
Troopers said at least six vehicles crashed for reasons still under investigation. A pedestrian was also hit and injured by a vehicle at the crash site.
It was not known if the pedestrian was a passenger in one of the cars.
The pedestrian and several passengers were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
All northbound lanes of I-94 reopened by 11:22 a.m.
No other details regarding this collision were released.
An investigation is underway.
