Ocala Woman Killed, 3 Injured in Car Accident at Pine Road and Hemlock Road in Ocala

Troopers said an 18-year-old Ocala man was driving a 2021 Infiniti Q50 sedan northbound on Pine Road and was heading to Hemlock Road. At the same time, a 2017 Hyundai Elantra operated by a 38-year-old man from Ocala was heading westbound on Hemlock Road.

Ocala Car Accident

Ocala, FL. – A 49-year-old passenger was killed and three others injured after a traffic collision on Sunday evening in Ocala, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at about 5:00 p.m. on April 19 at the Pine Road and Hemlock Road intersection.

Troopers said an 18-year-old Ocala man was driving a 2021 Infiniti Q50 sedan northbound on Pine Road and was heading to Hemlock Road. At the same time, a 2017 Hyundai Elantra operated by a 38-year-old man from Ocala was heading westbound on Hemlock Road.

The two cars entered the junction at the same time, and the front end of the Infiniti hit the left side of the Elantra. The Infiniti then drove northeast crashing into a utility pole and a metal property fence before coming to a stop.

The Elantra rested on the west grass shoulder after the crash.

The Elantra driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, was thrown out of his car and was critically hurt. His passenger, a 49-year-old Ocala woman wearing a seatbelt, was declared dead at the crash site.

The Infiniti driver and his passenger, a 21-year-old man from Ocala, both suffered minor injuries and were hospitalized. The two were wearing seatbelts at the time.
