Arlington Heights, IL – A 44-year-old Mundelein man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Wednesday evening at an intersection in Arlington Heights.
According to the Arlington Heights Police Department, the accident occurred at about 5:30 p.m. on September 17, at Golf Road and Goebbert Road.
Authorities confirmed a 2017 Toyota Sienna, driven by a 48-year-old Waukegan woman, was traveling westbound on Golf Road and made a left turn onto Goebbert Road on a green light.
At the same time, a 1979 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Golf Road and entered the intersection on a green light. The motorcycle collided with the front passenger side of the Toyota.
The rider, a 44-year-old Mundelein man, sustained traumatic injuries and was rushed to Endeavor Health Northwestern Community Hospital, where he was declared dead while in the emergency room.
The Toyota driver and the sole occupant of the car was not hurt in the collision.
A witness told investigators the motorcyclist was traveling about 30 mph when the minivan turned in front of him.
No one has been cited so far.
Officers closed Golf Road for around four hours between Arlington Heights Road and Goebbert Road following the accident.
