Motorcyclist Killed in Multi-Car Crash on Florida’s Turnpike at Mile Marker 257 in Orange County

Troopers confirmed a 2007 Hino tow truck, a 2008 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle, a 2024 Honda Civic sedan, a 2016 Dodge Challenger sedan and a 2019 Mercedes Sprinter van were involved in the collision.

Motorcyclist Dies After 5-Vehicle Accident on Florida’s Turnpike at Mile Marker 257

Orange County, FL. – A rider was killed after a traffic collision on Monday night on Florida’s Turnpike in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The deadly crash happened at about 8:30 p.m. on September 8 on northbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike at mile marker 257.

Troopers confirmed a 2007 Hino tow truck, a 2008 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle, a 2024 Honda Civic sedan, a 2016 Dodge Challenger sedan and a 2019 Mercedes Sprinter van were involved in the collision.

Troopers said the motorcyclist was riding in the inside center lane when the tow truck traveling in the center outside lane drove into the motorcycle’s lane causing the rider to lose control and swerve into the inside lane.

The three vehicles traveling in the inside lane didn’t stop in time and the Honda Civic and Sprinter van hit the motorbike and the rider while the Dodge crashed into the debris from the accident.

The rider, a 30-year-old male from Longwood, was declared dead at the crash site.

The other motorists were not hurt in the collision. They all remained at the accident scene.

An investigation is underway.
