Brevard County, FL. – A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run collision near Melbourne in Brevard County on Sunday night.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on U.S. Highway 1 near Orbiter Court at around 11 pm.
A northbound vehicle rear-ended a motorcycle in unclear circumstances.
The rider, a 61-year-old man, was ejected from the bike and was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and was yet to be located.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
