Deputies said a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 was heading southbound when the driver, a 50-year-old man from Stuart, tried to turn left into the Atlantis Plaza. At the same time, a 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by the 39-year-old man was approaching northbound in the outside lane.

Lantana, FL. – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a motorcycle accident that killed a 39-year-old rider on Tuesday evening in Lantana.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO), the deadly crash happened at about 6:50 p.m. on November 25, near 6200 South Congress Avenue, near the entrance to Atlantis Plaza.
Deputies said a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 was heading southbound when the driver, a 50-year-old man from Stuart, tried to turn left into the Atlantis Plaza. At the same time, a 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by the 39-year-old man was approaching northbound in the outside lane.
The GMC failed to see the motorcycle and turned directly into its path. The GMC hit the Harley Davidson throwing the motorcyclist off from his bike. He landed in the northbound lane and was declared dead at the crash site.
The male rider was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The GMC driver was not hurt in the collision.
It was not immediately known whether the GMC driver would face charges.
An investigation is underway.
