Authorities said three motorcycles were riding together on Route 26 when one of the bikes operated by Eddy crossed the median for unknown reasons and hit a Toyota Highlander.

Spring Bay, IL. – 63-year-old Michael Eddy was killed and four others hospitalized after a multi-vehicle accident on Monday afternoon just outside of Spring Bay.
According to the Woodford County Sheriff’s office, the accident happened at 5:30 p.m. on September 1 in the 1900 block of Illinois Route 26.
Authorities said three motorcycles were riding together on Route 26 when one of the bikes operated by Eddy crossed the median for unknown reasons and hit a Toyota Highlander.
Eddy was ejected from the roadway. He sustained critical injuries and was life flighted to an area hospital. He died on Tuesday at 1:26 a.m.
The second motorcycle struck debris from the crash and suffered severe injuries. The third rider was not hurt.
The four persons riding in the Highlander were hospitalized with minor injuries.
No other information regarding this crash was provided.
An investigation is underway.
