Indianapolis, IN. – Maranda Rice, 32, has been identified as the Colfax woman who died in a collision with a garbage truck in Thorntown on Monday evening.

According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 3:10 p.m. in the 6500 block of U.S. 52 near State Road 47.

Maranda was driving a Subaru sedan when it rear-ended a garbage truck that was stopped in the southbound lane for trash collection.

Maranda was killed in the accident.

Three children in the sedan were transported to hospital with serious injuries.

More details about the accident were not released.
