Deputies said a 2020 Ford Explorer was traveling northbound on Ringwood Road when a southbound 2013 Toyota Highlander drove into the northbound lane and struck the Explorer head-on.

McHenry County, IL. – A man was killed, a woman and two children injured in a head-on collision on Tuesday morning in McHenry County, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident happened at about 11:15 a.m. on September 9, in the 2500 block of Ringwood Road, south of Martin Road.
Deputies said a 2020 Ford Explorer was traveling northbound on Ringwood Road when a southbound 2013 Toyota Highlander drove into the northbound lane and struck the Explorer head-on.
The Highlander driver, 77-year-old McHenry man and the sole occupant, was rushed to Northwestern Hospital where he was declared dead.
A 32-year-old Wonder Lake woman operating the Explorer and her passengers, two juvenile children, were transported to Northwestern Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
No additional details regarding this crash were provided.
