Man Killed in Puyallup Pedestrian Accident on SR 167

Puyallup, WA – A 35-year-old man was killed Wednesday morning in a pedestrian accident in Puyallup, according to the WSP.

The deadly accident occurred on August 20 on State Route 167 (River Road), just south of 44th Street East.

WSP said the man was walking across the roadway, possibly walking to the Puyallup River for the first day of salmon fishing season, when he was struck by a pickup truck. He might have also been hit by a garbage truck.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The drivers of the pickup and garbage trucks stopped, pulled over, and cooperated with the investigators.

No further details were provided.
