King County, WA – A 66-year-old man was killed Thursday afternoon in a hit-and-run accident in King County near Fall City, according to the authorities.
The deadly accident happened around 12:20 p.m., June 19, on Interstate 90 east of Jones Road near milepost 26.
Authorities said a 42-year-old man was driving a black Toyota Sequoia when he struck the 66-year-old man.
The man was killed in the accident. His name has not been released.
The driver fled the scene after the accident, but his SUV became disabled and he pulled over about a mile west of the accident scene. He then got out of his SUV and attempted to carjack a white pickup truck. He was unable to get into the pickup and got into the bed of the truck. He got out of the truck on the westbound I-90 off-ramp to Preston.
A Washington State Patrol lieutenant arrived at the scene and got into an altercation with the suspect. Other troopers arrived and the suspect was taken into custody.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
