As per the police, a 21-year-old Decatur woman, was heading southbound on Main Street with a red light at E Wood Street, while a 72-year-old Decatur man was heading westbound on Wood Street and approaching Main Street with a yellow light. The woman ran the red light and struck the man’s vehicle.

Decatur, IL. – A man was in the hospital after a traffic collision on Sunday afternoon in Decatur, according to the Decatur Police Department.
The accident occurred at around 1:00 p.m. on April 19, at East Wood Street and South Main Street, near the Macon County Office Building.
As per the police, a 21-year-old Decatur woman, was heading southbound on Main Street with a red light at E Wood Street, while a 72-year-old Decatur man was heading westbound on Wood Street and approaching Main Street with a yellow light. The woman ran the red light and struck the man’s vehicle.
The 72-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
The 21-year-old woman declined medical treatment at the crash site.
Police did not suspect alcohol or drugs to have played a role in the accident.
