Elkhart County, IN. – A man was injured in an early Sunday morning car crash in Jefferson Township, Elkhart County.

According to the police, the accident happened around 2:40 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 14 and County Road 21.

A 22-year-old Elkhart man was driving a car east on County Road 14 when he lost control, veered off the roadway and hit a utility pole and street sign.

The impact of the collision caused the car to overturn onto its side and burst into flames.

The man was able to self-extricate from the vehicle and was taken to hospital with unknown injuries.
