Troopers said a 2021 Lexus ES was heading eastbound when it ran off the road, hit the curbed median and struck two adults and a dog standing there.

Orlando, FL. – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run pedestrian accident that left a man in a wheelchair and a dog dead on Thursday night in Orlando.
The collision occurred at about 9:00 p.m. on March 19, on Lee Road and Adanson Street.
Troopers said a 2021 Lexus ES was heading eastbound when it ran off the road, hit the curbed median and struck two adults and a dog standing there.
Debris from the wheelchair hit a 2006 Toyota Tacoma that was stopped in the westbound left-turn lane. A 20-year-old Orlando man, the Tacoma diver was not severely hurt in the accident.
The Lexus driver fled the scene and drove eastbound. He abandoned the vehicle in a nearby parking lot with significant damage sustained in the collision.
The man in a wheelchair and the dog were declared dead at the crash site. A woman who was with him was transported to the hospital where she was listed in a critical stable condition.
An investigation is underway.
