Deputies said the man was driving his tractor down on Westfield Road when a pickup truck struck the tractor’s back tire, sending the tractor into a ditch.
Westfield, IL. – A 46-year-old man was airlifted after a traffic collision involving a tractor on Tuesday evening in Coles County, according to the Coles County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident occurred a while after 6:00 p.m. on September 30, on Westfield Road near the intersection of 2000 East County Road.
Deputies said the man was driving his tractor down on Westfield Road when a pickup truck struck the tractor’s back tire, sending the tractor into a ditch.
Willenborg was flown to the hospital in a helicopter.
The pickup driver declined medical treatment and was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision.
An investigation is ongoing.
