Las Vegas, NV. – A man in a wheelchair was killed in a Sunday morning pedestrian accident in Las Vegas.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the accident happened around 5:22 a.m. at West Flamingo Road and South El Capitan Way.

A pedestrian in a wheelchair crossing Flamingo Road was struck by a Kia Forte. The Kia Forte was heading east on Flamingo Road while the man was travelling northbound.

The man was transported to the UMC -Trauma Center by an ambulance. He was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the Kia stayed on the scene and cooperated with the police.

According to the police, impairment didn’t appear as a factor in the collision.

No one else was hurt in the accident.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
