Police say the two were not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident

Lane County, OR. – Two people were killed in a car accident in Lane County early Sunday morning, according to the police.
The fatal collision occurred around 1:29 a.m. on February 8 on Highway 58 near milepost 40.
Police said a Toyota Tacoma was traveling eastbound when it left the roadway and crashed into a tree.
The Toyota driver, a 25-year-old from Oakridge, and a 24-year-old passenger, also from Oakridge, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the two were not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Police are investigating the accident.
