Klamath County, OR. – Two people were killed in a two-vehicle collision in Klamath County on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Oregon State Police, the crash occurred on Highway 140E near milepost 16 at around 1:00 p.m.

A westbound Honda Civic entered the eastbound lane to pass other vehicles when a westbound Cadillac CTS also attempted to pass and moved into the same lane.

The Cadillac clipped the Honda’s front end with its rear quarter panel, causing the Cadillac to lose control and roll down the eastbound shoulder before coming to rest on its roof in a nearby field.

A Klamath Falls man operating the Cadillac was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the Cadillac, a 52-year-old Klamath Falls resident, was also pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Honda and two juvenile passengers, ages 3 and 5, were uninjured.

The accident remains under investigation by the Oregon State Police.
