Klamath County, OR. – One person was killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Klamath County Friday evening, according to Oregon State Police.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 97 and Silver Lake Road near milepost 228 at approximately 6:20 p.m. on January 9, 2026, when troopers responded to reports of a serious crash in the area.
Investigators determined that a Ford F-450 was stopped on Silver Lake Road and attempted to enter the highway when it was struck by a southbound Freightliner commercial motor vehicle and trailer.

The driver of the Freightliner, a California man, along with a passenger, also a California man, suffered minor injuries.
The incident remains under investigation by the Oregon State Police.
