Las Cruces Police and Las Cruces Fire responded to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Boutz Road and El Paseo Road at about 10:50 p.m. on June 13.

Las Cruces, N.M. – A 48-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in Las Cruces late Friday night, according to a police report.
The deceased man was identified as Juan A. Haro.
Las Cruces Police and Las Cruces Fire responded to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Boutz Road and El Paseo Road at about 10:50 p.m. on June 13.
Responding crews found Haro suffering from multiple injuries, and despite life-saving measures, Haro succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Investigators said Haro was crossing Boutz Road from north to south when a westbound car operated by a 17-year-old hit him.
The 17-year-old driver was questioned and the police seized the vehicle pending a search warrant and further investigation, police said.
No additional details were provided.
The crash is under investigation.
