Tucson, AZ – A man, identified as 45-year-old Joshua James Kirk, has died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle traffic collision in Tucson on Wednesday, according to the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner.
According to the Medical Examiner, Joshua Kirk succumbed to his injuries at the hospital on April 26.
The accident happened at about 8:30 p.m. on April 23, 2025, at the intersection of East Old Spanish Trail and South Houghton Road, the Tucson Police Department said.
A preliminary investigation showed that a red 2002 Ford Escape, driven by a 21-year-old man, was going northbound on Houghton Road when the driver failed to stop for a red light and struck an eastbound gray 2022 Toyota Tacoma, operated by Kirk.
Kirk was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries where he later died on April 26.
The male driver of the Ford and his female passenger in the Ford were not injured.
The Ford was issued a citation for failure to stop for a red light.
No additional information regarding the crash was provided.
The incident remains under investigation.
