Josephine County, OR. – A man was killed in a car accident in Josephine County on Monday morning, according to the police.
The fatal accident happened around 12:20 a.m. on Highway 238 near milepost 8.
A 21-year-old Grants Pass man was driving a Subaru Impreza westbound on the highway when he failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, and hit a power pole. The vehicle rolled over multiple times and caught fire.
The driver was able to exit the vehicle and was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
His passenger, a 36-year-old Grants Pass man, was unable to exit the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident closed the highway for several hours.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
