Phoenix, AZ – A man was killed Sunday night after his car crashed into a building in Phoenix, according to the police.
The deadly collision was reported around 10:00 p.m. on July 27 near 15th Avenue and Grant Avenue, just south of Jefferson Street.
Police said 25-year-old Jose Antonio Valenzuela Cota was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control and hit a building on the southbound side of the roadway.
Cota’s car caught fire after the collision. Responding firefighters extinguished the flames and pulled Cota out of the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was unclear if impairment was a factor in the accident.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
